It has been 17 years since the launch of the Overseas Preparatory Program.

At the time, the main aim of this program was to instill pride about English education achievements in our students, build their confidence in their future, and nurture a sense of belonging in a Western environment. These objectives remain relevant and important today.

Every class undertaken by our students is an important experience that makes their learning more concrete and meaningful. Our hope is that students will be better able to appreciate what they have learnt in textbooks by practically using English in our classes. We want them to see how core principles like hard work, the desire to excel, and readiness to take calculated risks will enable them to overcome constraints and prosper. Together, we have provided a program which caters to the changing profiles, interests and needs of our students.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Students here are prepped for the rigors of top Western education.  Core subjects such as literature, writing, math, science, social studies, and business studies provide our foundation. This is supported by English proficiency courses such as TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT which provide the gateway to the west.  We also offer more foreign languages such as French, Spanish, Japanese, German and Korean to broaden their horizons.

However we do more.  We give students confidence.  We provide the stage and audience for our students to practically use what they have learnt through music, presentations, speeches, drama, leadership seminars and various club activities. Most importantly our students are taught how to learn through real life experiences and are groomed to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Academic Accomplishments

Our results have been superb.  Our top TOEFL scores have reached 118 out of 120; IELTS scores have reached 8.5 out of 9.0. We have students primed for medical school and top universities such as Berkeley and Columbia. Moreover, our students have been admitted to more than 130 universities on 5 continents, in countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, Spain and Italy. We are beyond proud of what we have helped our students accomplish.

The Future is Washington

We are particularly grateful to the school, teachers and staff for investing time and resources to make our program more engaging for our students. Through these efforts, it is clear that our parents recognize the crucial role they play in nurturing our young.  Indeed, the first hand encounters through learning journeys offer immense potential for our students to experience and learn about English.

With globalization, our students now have more opportunities to live, work, and study abroad. Hence, it is increasingly important to foster in our young, no matter where they live. The Overseas Program will continue to be an important strategy to engage students experientially in understanding the crucial role English plays. It is crucial that we continue to innovate and enhance the existing programs so that they remain relevant and engaging for our students.

After all, the passion, drive and commitment of our young today are astounding. Let us continue our partnership to nurture committed students who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
