恭喜華盛頓高級中學WIST iGEM 團隊 — 在 2025 年 iGEM 國際基因工程大賽 中，以創新專案「RiceGuard」榮獲銀牌獎 (Silver Medal)！
這群年輕的科學家們，以「無細胞生物感測技術」為核心，研發出一款能夠 快速檢測稻米中砷污染 的創新生物感測器。
只需在家中加入少量米水萃取，即可在數分鐘內完成檢測，讓「食品安全」不再遙不可及！這項突破性的研究，為全球糧食安全開啟了全新的一頁！
感謝Emily副校、指導老師Casper Willemse及Bryan，以及每一位同學這一年來的堅持與付出。

Huge congratulations to our amazing Washington High School WIST iGEM Team for winning Silver at the 2025 iGEM Global Synthetic Biology Competition!
Their project, “RiceGuard,” tackles a serious real-world issue — arsenic contamination in rice.
Using cutting-edge cell-free biosensing technology, the team created a test that can detect arsenic in just a few minutes with a drop of rice water — simple, fast, and powerful!
A huge leap forward for food safety and an incredible example of how young innovators can change the world.
Massive thanks to our vice principal Emily, teacher Casper Willemse and Bryan for guiding the team, and to every student who poured their heart and passion into this project.
Also, special appreciation to Ambassador Hao and Director Lu for their encouragement and belief in Taiwan’s next generation of scientists!
